1. INITIAL DAMPER TEST - Before installing Damper into wall, check damper's closing operation. This can be achieved by placing damper in the upright position. Hold blade stack whilst removing UL33 rated fusible link. Let the curtain blade stack fall. Gather blades up and return fusible link to its original position.

Advise builder of penetration construction detail. Refer figure 1.

Ensure that penetration is correct size. Opening should be 16mm on top of damper and 10mm on either side of damper.

Remove flange screws / bolts and detach flanges from damper casing.

5.
Apply a 5mm bead of fire rated mastic along bottom and both side edges of penetration. Slide damper into wall.

6.
Insert 27mm Nom. Diameter IBS Rod from fyregard into the 16mm expansion gap on top of the damper. Seal both edges with another 5mm bead of fire rated mastic.

7.
Seal all angles to plasterboard wall surface with fire rated mastic. replace flanges making sure damper is fixed firmly within the wall. NOTE: Do not overtighten flange screw bolts.

8.
Repeat INITIAL DAMPER TEST as outlined in point #1.

9.
Connect Ductwork to fire damper using fire resistant gap mastic to fill recess if using raw edge connection, or apply mastic to both surfaces of the TDF/TDC flange connections. (Bolts must be of a low melting point material.)

 






All fire dampers shall be accessible and maintained in accordance with AS1851.Part6
